Composers of any nationality, without age restrictions, are invited to participate in the competition.

The maximum amount of instruments allowed are two violins and two cellos.

The score cannot exceed 15 minutes in duration.

Compositions that have been publicly performed or published before are permitted,
but scores that have received awards in other competitions will not be considered.
To apply, you must fill out a specific form in the “Applications” section.

The composer must create a pseudonym that does not reveal their identity.

During registration, you need to provide an email address and a WhatsApp number.
Once registered, the participant will be redirected to the payment page for the entry
fee of 80 euros.

From the registered email address, the participant should send the PDF score to the
e-mail address: freedomofsoundprojections@gmail.com
The title page must bear the same pseudonym, and the author’s name should not appear anywhere on the score.

Leave the body text of the email empty.
In the “Subject” field, include only the pseudonym and WhatsApp number.

Each composer may submit only one composition per application,
but there is no limit to the number of applications a single author may submit.

Each application must be registered under a separate pseudonym and be paid
for individually.

It is recommended that an audio recording of the score be sent in a separate e-mail.
This recording may be performed by live musicians or created using music notation software (for example, FINALE).

The audio recording should be no larger than 15 MB and must be in MP3 format.

The deadline for submitting applications is January 15, 2026.
Late applications will not be accepted for the competition.

The entry fee is non-refundable, except in the unlikely event that the competition is canceled.
Each jury member will evaluate the scores according to the following criteria:

1) Traditionalism;
2) Novelty;
3) Cohesion of thematic elements and intonational logic;
4) Culture of harmonic thinking;
5) Interaction of instrumental lines;
6) Unlocking the instrument’s capabilities.

Applications will be processed by January 30.

On January 31, participants will receive an e-mail
with feedback and ratings from each jury member.

Four scores will be selected for the final, each of which
will be rehearsed and performed by an ensemble of soloists.

A gift CD will be produced and sent to the finalists via registered mail as a prize.
On February 1, the finalists will receive an invitation to the concert,
which will take place on February 13 in Vienna.
Attendance by the composer is recommended, but not mandatory.
If the composer attends, they will be responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and meal expenses.

By February 9, no later than 10:00 PM, the ensemble participants will send
audio recordings of the individual parts to the composers via WhatsApp for adjustments.

By February 10, no later than 10:00 AM, composers must respond with
detailed and clear feedback regarding any issues, comments, or requests.

By February 11, no later than 10:00 PM, the performing ensemble will send
complete audio recordings of the scores to the composers via WhatsApp for further adjustments.

By February 12, no later than 10:00 AM, the composer must provide
a written response articulating any issues, comments, or requests clearly and in detail.

The concert for the finalists will take place on February 13.

On February 14, the laureates will receive a notification indicating their prize placements.

They must respond via email on the same day, providing:

1) Name and surname,
2) A brief musical autobiography (no more than twenty lines),
3) Residential address,
4) Bank account or debit card details.

On February 15, the winners will be announced on the website.

On February 16, each finalist who did not win a prize must send an email including:

1) Name and surname (for the finalist diploma),
2) A brief musical autobiography (for the CD),
3) Residential address (for sending the diploma and CD via registered mail).
The total prize fund of the competition is 15,000 euros:

– First prize: 10,000 euros

– Second prize: 5,000 euros

Before the prize money is paid to the winner, the taxes provided for by applicable law will be withheld from this prize money amount.

The jury reserves the right not to award the First Prize.

The jury’s decision is final and cannot be appealed.
